Today’s project is quick and easy!
Paint; can be chalk paint or acrylic paint, chalk paint is best
Stencil (I used Hazel & Ruby) but read to the bottom of the post for a surprise!
Sand paper (optional)
Hair dryer (to speed it along)
Get a clean jar, recycle one from the refrigerator.
Place your stencil in an open area, not on writing or bumpy glass
Paint the entire outside of the glass jar. If using acrylic paint do not brush over your paint as it will start to pull your paint up. (Chalk paint sticks to glass really well, and the results are beautiful!).
Let the paint dry, use your blow dryer to help the process along
Continue adding layers of paint to the desired look.
When done painting, peel off the stencil carefully as to not pull up paint.
Now paint the inside of the jar. I painted the open stencil section several times, but didn’t worry much about the rest of the inside of the jar. I gave it about two coats and called it good.
If you would like a more rustic looking jar, light sand the jar.
I watered down my gold paint and used my brush to flick the jar with the paint. Then I wiped off the paint that was on the stencil area.
