Ami Schibi, Owner
I am so honored to have the privilege of carrying the Speckled Feather Mercantile torch into the future.  Denise and Elyse are leaving big shoes to fill, but I am excited to continue bringing their vision to life for our great community.

I want to share a little about myself to break the ice and help put your curiosity to rest. I know how I’d feel in your shoes with the future of our favorite store in new hands.

I come from a long line of talented sewers, crafters, and makers.  I made my first craft, a pasta necklace, in a Montana preschool, graduated to a crocheted hanger in Girl Scouts, nursed a scrapbooking obsession in early adulthood, and am currently passionate about making stage-worthy costume creations.

There’s so much to love about SFM just the way it is, so rest assured, there will still be classes, events, and inspiration for all. I’d like to bring in some sewing classes and possibly a small selection of notions (maybe even fabric) to add to the store down the road.

Denise and Elyse have graciously promised to help me settle in and will be around, perhaps even teaching classes or facilitating clubs. I’ll announce any changes going forward, but in the meantime, please stop by and introduce yourself. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of my fellow crafty colleagues.

I’ve always joked about wanting to live in the store because I love the way it makes me feel when I’m in there. I guess now I’ll be living my dream.

Here’s to new beginnings filled with glitter, goodies, and plenty of glue!
