A love of the ocean took Shoni to Florida and in that move a love of stained glass emerged. Shoni had always wanted to learn how to make stained glass and was fortunate to have found a studio 1 mile from her home in Dunedin, FL. Her mentor, Luanne Kane, was instrumental in fostering this talent and for seeing glass for more than it could be. Shoni’s love of the ocean can be seen in many of the pieces displayed at SFM. A native of Colorado, her heritage is also incorporated in designs that reflect this great state.
She enjoys making patterns where she can pull interesting portions of the glass to produce depth and movement. Her newest endeavor in glass is collaborating with her Dad, Ed Bell, on decorative birdhouses. From log cabins to bayou shacks, Shoni and her father construct whimsical structures that incorporate glass into all their pieces. Known as “The Glass Bee,” her products can also be viewed on Facebook!
